We woke up early today to get down to Chinatown in Toronto. Doug (my pianist) always finds the best places. He is an amazing chef himself and always finds the best food; we had a stuffing brunch that was SO tasty. Dumplings, porridge, and all these new things that to me was delicious.
Now we are on the road again driving to Montreal. We play the Montreal jazz festival on Thursday. We will get there and have tonight to check some music out. I’m really excited; everyone always talks about this festival as being so magnificent. Music on the streets, 100000 people. It will be a new experience for sure and I really can’t wait. I’ve heard I have to do some shopping and eat bagels with smoked meat. Mmmm. Traveling is such a great thing; all of this is so surreal to me sometimes. Who would have thought I’d be so fortunate to go around the world playing my music, it’s a dream. Sometimes it gets confusing because the days all mesh into one and we’re in the van and out and on to another hotel. But the dream is beginning to happen and it’s an exciting one.
