We arrived In Oslo Norway after traveling all
night! My boyfriend came home after a month long tour but we only had
time to meet up in the airport because he came home a few hours earlier than my
flight! I guess that’s the life of musician’s ha-ha. I would
always take seeing him for 2 hours than not seeing him at all!!
This my first time in Oslo and it’s such a
beautiful place. The buildings are so beautiful, clean, lots of people around;
it has such a great vibe. Had an incredible lunch with Phil..and I mean
incredible. We had the freshest seafood lunch. Mussels, salmon, boiled
potatoes, mmmm. Phil has taught me the proper way to eat muscles. You’re
not supposed to eat them with the fork. You’re supposed to take one empty
mussel and then grab the other mussel and eat it that way. I forgot in
the beginning and was eating with a fork (like everyone usually does) and he
was like, " no no!! What are you doing/! Like this!!” Ha-ha.
The band and I went out with a couple of my friends from Berklee who live here
in Oslo. We had great Indian dinner and they walked us around. We
checked out Lage Lund at the club and then I came back. I had only slept
an hour in the hotel and I was absolutely exhausted. The good thing about
that is I basically slept through the night. Woke up to have a very big
grant buffet breakfast downstairs and now I’m preparing for the gig
tonight. We play tonight at 7. There are venues all around the town
and if you look at the Oslo jazz fest schedule there’s been music at every hour
of the day for the last week. Very impressive! Some of my favorite
artists like Brian Blade will be here. Charlie Haden and his liberation
orchestra were here yesterday. Will update more soon!
